PURPOSE: To provide a W/O-type emulsified cosmetic containing an oil-soluble hydroxy acid, a silicone oil, ethanol and a nonionic surfactant, having high stability and exhibiting excellent skin feeling and sebum-secretion suppressing effect.
CONSTITUTION: This emulsified cosmetic contains (A) 0.01-20wt.% of an oil- soluble hydroxy acid (e.g. 11-hydroxydecenoic acid), (B) 1-40wt.% of a silicone oil (e.g. dimethylpolysiloxane), (C) 1-20wt.% of ethanol and (D) 0.1-10wt.% of a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether). The cosmetic may properly contain other conventional components and can be prepared in the form of skin cream, milky lotion, creamy foundation, cleaning agent, etc., by conventional method. A homogeneous emulsion can be produced even by using the silicone oil and ethanol in large amounts. The cosmetic has excellent aging stability, is free from oily feeling and stickiness, gives excellent feeling to the skin and exhibiting excellent effect for suppressing the secretion of sebum.
