To obtain the subject cosmetic containing an organopolysiloxane derivative having a specific sugar residue as an emulsifier in combination with a lower alcohol, a silicon oil and water, giving refreshing feeling to the skin during and after application and having excellent emulsion stability, etc.

This cosmetic contains (A) an organopolysiloxane derivative having a sugar residue and expressed by formula [R and Ra are each a 1-8C hydrocarbon group; at least one of R1 to R6 is an organic group of formula R7-O-G (R7 is a 2-20C organic group; G is a glycosyl derived from monosaccharide, oligosaccharide or polysaccharide) and the others are each a 1-8C hydrocarbon group or OH; (m) and (n) are each 0 or a positive number on an average and 10≤m+n≤3,100], (B) a lower alcohol, (C) an oil phase containing one or more kinds of silicone oils and (D) water. In the above formula, preferably (m) is 500-3,000 and (n) is 1-100. The cosmetic preferably further contains an inorganic salt or an organic acid salt having a water-solubility of ≥0.2g/100g at 20°C.
