PURPOSE: To perform distinct type-printing at an enhanced type-printing speed, by fixing a type column device, and driving a hammer at a position corresponding to the contents of type-printing information in response to the advancements of a paper to be type-printed and a ribbon.

CONSTITUTION: A ribbon 2 and a blank 3 to be type-printed arranged parallely in a type column device 1 are moved forward by a drive means. Each hammer 4 is positioned at a place corresponding to each type in the type line deice 1, and driven by a combined actuator 5. The block 6 is the first memorizer for memorizing the contents of information to type-print a blank 3 to be type-printed, the block 7 is the second memorizer for memorizing the contents of a type line in the type column device 1, and the block 8 compares the contents memorized in these two memorizers 6 and 7 together, feeds a control signal to the actuator 5 in response to the advancements of the ribbon 2 and the blank 3 to be type-printed and drives a hammer designated in relation to the contents of type-printing information at a designated period.
