PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage of the line edge intersection part of a character, in the type of a typewriter, by arranging the sharp connection edge for mutually connecting line edges to the line edge intersecting part of a printing surface and erasing printing dripping by said connection edge.

CONSTITUTION: The printing surface 4 protruded from the base part of a type 1 through an inclined part 3 is constituted of the protruded edge (x) sharply directed to the outer periphery direction from outside line edges 5, 5 in the intersecting part of said line edges 5, 5 assuming the shape of a character or mark and constitutes a notch part (y) excavated to an inside at the intersecting part of inside line edges 6, 6 in the intersecting part of the inside line edges so as to form β<α. For example, in the printing surface 4 of a character A, protruded edges (x) are provided to the intersecting parts of the outside line edges and concave ring shaped notch parts (y) are provided to the three sharp angle ends of the triangular groove parts in the character shape. By this method, printing dripping can be erased by the sharp connection edges and sharp printing is enabled without collapsing the line edge intersecting parts of the character.
