PURPOSE: To improve operability and check an indication to prevent a typesetting error by designating a sentence to be entered first, then designating its area, sequentially designating areas for data entry after the first area and performing typesetting processings for data entry with the indication of results.

CONSTITUTION: If a sentence number 1 of a sentence (A) to be entered first is entered using an input device 10, an input control section 14 identifies this number and transmits a command to a sentence indication section 15a of an indicator 15. Next, if an area 2 for the entry of the sentence (A) is entered using the input device 10, the input control section 14 identifies the area 2 and sends a command to an area indication section 15b of the indicator 15. A typesetting processing section 17 reads sentence data for the sentence (A) from a sentence data storage section 20a of a storage device 20, and also area data for the area 2 from an area data storage section 20b respectively upon a command from the indicator 15. Typesetting data is prepared by performing typesetting processings of both data and then the processed data is transmitted to an indication control section 18. The sentence indication section 15a of the indicator 15 receives an indication end signal from an indication control section 18 and checks whether there is a following sentence in the sentence data stored in the storage device 20. Then if there is no following sentence, the indication section 15a ends a data input processing.
