PURPOSE: To provide a typesetting processor for outputting the result after typesetting processing while using plural kinds of fonts in different character code systems or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A data fetching part 6 fetches text data, typesetting instruction and font selection data for selecting any font for each character at outputting time or the like. According to the typesetting instruction fetching those text data, a typesetting processing part 7 gets typesetting data by executing the typesetting processing. A character code converting part 8 gets the character code inside the font, which is selected by the font selection data, corresponding to the characters of text data by using a character code conversion table 14 or any conversion expression. A font retrieving part 9 selects any font corresponding to the font selection data, retrieves that font with the provided character code and reads out the font data for output. Those font data and the typesetting data are supplied to a printer 4 and the typesetting processing result is outputted.
