PURPOSE: To facilitate memorization of key positions and to effectively train typewriting by displaying the arrangement of keys at the time when keys on a keyboard are not operated within a certain time after display of a question sentence.

CONSTITUTION: A display means 3 on which the picture of the key arrangement on a keyboard 2 and the question sentence are displayed, a storage means 11 where picture data of the key arrangement to be displayed and the question sentence indicating a key to be operated are stored, a counting means which counts the time till the operation of a key, and a control means 10 which displays the next character of the question sentence in response to key operation on the keyboard 2 within a preliminarily determined time after display of the question sentence stored in the storage means 11 but reads out picture data of the key arrangement from the storage means 11 to display it on the display means 3 at the time of no operation are provided. Thus, a user easily memorizes key positions and is effectively trained.
