CONSTITUTION: A ribbon lift cam 12 is rotatably supported by a shaft 11 provided on a carriage 5. On the other hand, a follower pin 6a engaging with the groove cam 13 is projected on a ribbon holder 6. When the follower pin 6a is engaged with the small-diameter part 13a, the ribbon holder 6 is disposed on a first lift position where a printing ribbon 8a is opposed to a platen 2. When the follower pin 6a is engaged with the large-diameter part 13b, it is disposed on a second lift position where a correction ribbon 9 is opposed to the platen 2. Because the lift position of the ribbon holder 6 is identified before the start of a printing action to be correctly the position where the printing ribbon 8a is opposed to the platen 2, the occurrence of a printing error firstly can be prevented even when a power source is cut during a correction printing action and a normal printing action is conducted by again throwing the power source in.
