PURPOSE: To provide a toner compsn. which can be easily produced with predetermined properties, is excellent esp. in viscosity characteristics, and is useful for copying and printing and to provide an ink compsn. prepd. therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains a refined fraction of uintaite and a thermoplastic polymer, pref. contains a maltene-rich fraction of uintaite obtd. by solvent extraction, a thermoplastic polymer, and a colorant. A maltene-rich fraction of uintaite has a low softening point and a stable soln. viscosity, is multifunctional, can substitute for a polymer, a static agent, and a colorant, and is favorble as an electrophotographic toner or a printing ink. A printing ink emulsion contg. a maltene-rich fraction of uintaite is also provided.
