PURPOSE: To obtain the ultrasonic current meter for high temperature which is of high precision and with little false measurement by a method wherein ultrasonic elements having Curie point at high temperature are fitted to piping so as to contact directly with the fluid to be measured.
CONSTITUTION: To the piping 11 wherethrough the fluid 12 to be measured flows are fixed the ultrasonic elements 10a, 10a', 10b and 10b' composed of acoustic transducing elements whose Curie point is 1,000°C or above in such a manner that the central axes thereof accord with each other and that the distance between the tip surfaces of the elements 10a, 10a' and 10b, 10b' is equal. Since a ring-shaped body 14 supporting the ultrasonic elements 10a, 10a', 10b and 10b' is faced and welded with a ring-shaped body 13 projected from the piping 11 so that the tip of the body 14 contacts directly with the fluid 12 to be measured as shown in the figure, the ultrasonic elements 10a, 10a', 10b and 10b' can be prevented from attenuation due to reflections of the piping, the elements or the like.
