To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which records an ultrasonogram in a recording medium while keeping it in the high image quality and efficiently performs measurement and searching based on the image recorded in the recording medium.

The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 obtains the ultrasonogram of a subject and displays it on an image displaying part 17. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 adds lacking images to a region corresponding to a difference between the ultrasonogram and a recorded image when a DVD medium 29 is inserted in a DVD recording reading part 27, and the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 receives the instruction of recording. A DVD recording means 19 creates the recorded image from the ultrasonogram and an information header file 49 corresponding to the ultrasonogram simultaneously and records them in the DVD medium 29 together with the ultrasonogram. Consequently, the ultrasonogram is recorded by keeping it in the high image quality. Moreover, the operability is improved by utilizing the information header file 49.
