To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus allowing suppression of increase of an artifact when executing a B mode or an M mode.
This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a transmission/reception means, a switching power supply, a control means, and an image generation means. The transmission/reception means transmits an ultrasonic wave to a test subject according to a repetition frequency, and receives an echo signal from the test subject. The switching power supply generates a voltage by switching in accordance with a switching frequency, and supplies the voltage to the transmission/reception means. When the control means receives an instruction of the execution of the B mode or the M mode, the control means staggers timing of transmission/reception of the ultrasonic waves to the same scanning line to timing of the switching of the switching power supply, and makes the transmission/reception means transmit/receive the ultrasonic waves. The image generation means adds a plurality of echo signals obtained by the transmission/reception of the ultrasonic waves to the same scanning line to generate ultrasonic image data.
