A control part 15 allows a transmission and reception part 2 to transmit and receive an ultrasonic wave with respect to the transmission-reception frequency corresponding to measuring precision required in a measurement of the specific kind indicated by the operator, and an image forming part 4 to form the ultrasonic image data, which expresses the subject in the region calculated on the basis of the measuring precision and the size of the display region of a display part 8. A display control part 6 allows the display part 8 to display the ultrasonic image based on the ultrasonic image data and a measuring part 16 executes the specific kind of the measurement indicated by the operator use the ultrasonic image displayed on the display part 8.
