Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide possibility of switching between a plurality of frequencies and to reduce the pains of a patient and also burden on operator(s).
CONSTITUTION: The applicable physical part of a patient is observed while an ultrasonic scan is made using an ultrasonic vibrator having a plurality of vibratory surfaces and a reflection mirror for ultrasonic scanning 21 which is mounted on a rotary shaft 27 is such a way as confronting the vibrator. The arrangement further includes a vibratory surface changeover mechanism for the ultrasonic vibrator. For example, the vibrator 22 is structured so that two vibrator elements having mutually different frequencies are affixed to the front and rear surfaces in back-to-back arrangement, and this is used in reversals according to necessity using an inverting mechanism. The inverting mechanism may be structured so that is uses a signal transmitting cable 29, and serves also as a means to transmit force to change over the vibrator elements or rotate the vibrator. With this constitution, it is possible to switch two difference frequencies and also to scan the patient using a rotary reflection mirror. Two favorable points are incorporated compatibly, and thereby pains of patient as well as burden on the operator(s) can be reduced.
