Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for ultrasonically detecting a flaw which can inspect propriety of connecting state of a honeycomb core constituting a honeycomb panel to a face plate only by emitting an ultrasonic wave from one surface side of the panel.

CONSTITUTION: When an ultrasonic plate wave from an ultrasonic probe 3 is propagated to a face plate 2, propagating conditions of the plate wave are altered at a normal connected part of a honeycomb core 5 to the plate 2, the wave is partly reflected, and partly refracted to be transmitted to the core 5. Accordingly, an intensity of the reflected wave obtained by the probe 3 is monitored thereby to judge propriety of the connected part. A part A of a reflected wave intensity distribution corresponds to a connection defective part 6 of one side 5b of the core 5 to the plate 2.
