Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a flow velocity even in the case where the flow of a fluid to be measured is speedy and a pulse route of ultrasonic waves is changed.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic flowmeter comprises a detector #1, a detector #2, and arithmetic means 30. The detector #1 is mounted in a tube outer circumferential portion of a measuring tube 3 at one side, transmits ultrasonic waves in a direction approximately orthogonal to a tube axis direction of the measuring tube 3 and receives ultrasonic waves from another side alternately. The detector #2 is mounted in a tube outer circumferential portion of the measuring tube 3 at the other side while keeping a predetermined distance from the detector #1 in the tube axis direction of the measuring tube 3, transmits ultrasonic waves in a direction approximately orthogonal to the tube axis direction of the measuring tube 3, and receives ultrasonic waves from the other side alternately. The arithmetic means 30 is connected to the detectors #1 and #2, inputs ultrasonic detection signals containing directional displacement components alternately obtained from the detectors #1 and #2, and arithmetically operates a flow velocity of a fluid to be measured from a reception strength of the ultrasonic detection signals.
