To enable an ultrasonic forceps coagulation device to limit the clamp force bringing good touch-feelable feedback, by partitioning a cage of a spring by one of either an operation lever or a drive york and a slot of the spring by the other and transmitting the force transmitted from the operation lever to the drive york by the spring.

An operation lever 222 is mutually connected with a reciprocatable actuating member 170 by a drive york 220 and a drive collar 200 and rotatably connected with a housing. Movement of the lever 222 toward a grip pat 224 moves the actuating member 170 to the proximal position and rotates a forceps arm 190 in the direction of an end effector 180'. The force loaded on the reciprocatable actuating member 170 of the equipment by rotating motion of an operation lever 22 actuated through the drive york 220 and the drive collar 200 is limited by the force of a spring 226 to press a spring flange 230. Application of excess force brings rotating motion of the spring flange 230 of the operation lever for the drive york 220 against the spring 226.
