To eliminate damage to hair owing to heating and over-drying and to attain hair setting without nonuniformity by transmitting ultrasonic wave on the front surface of a horn and providing substance with a smaller elastic modulus as compared with the horn.
An ultrasonic vibration is generated in a vibrator 1 by a vibrator driving circuit 2, the vibration is amplified by the horn 3 and a winding part 4 is fitted to the tip part of the horn 3. The substance 5 having the elastic force of a rubber material or the like such as silicone rubber for uniforming the strength of ultrasonic wave transmitted from the horn 3 and transmitting it to hair H and the elastic modulus being smaller than that of the horn 3 is fitted to the part 4. Then, ultrasonic wave is applied to hair H through this substance 5 so as to attain hair styling. Thus, hair is not damaged by heating and over-drying so that hair is set without nonuniformity.
