Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe, and an ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus, of better sensitivity.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe 2 includes: a piezoelectric material 22 for transmitting/receiving ultrasonic waves; an acoustic lens 25 provided to converge ultrasonic waves transmitted from the piezoelectric material 22 onto an analyte; an acoustic matching layer 23 provided to be positioned between the piezoelectric material 22 and the acoustic lens 25; and a rear surface layer 21 provided on the opposite side of the acoustic matching layer 23 relative to the piezoelectric material 22. Assuming any position in a stacking direction of a rear surface reflection material 21b which is a member having a largest acoustic impedance present on a rear surface layer side beyond an interface between the piezoelectric material 22 and the acoustic matching layer 23 as a start point, and a position of an interface between the acoustic lens 25 and the acoustic matching layer 23 as an end point, the acoustic impedance of the acoustic matching layer 23 is set so that the acoustic impedance gradually decreases from the acoustic impedance at the start point to the acoustic impedance at the end point.
