Title:
ULTRASONIC PROBE AND TERMINAL ASSEMBLY THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06277215
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an ultrasonic probe which is appropriate for diagnosis, photographing organs and arterial blood vessels of a human body during an operation by having such a probe that the stalk of the probe is connected to the side end of a converter at a point off the main axis at an obtuse angle. CONSTITUTION: A probe consists of a converter 22 resembling a shoe on a foot and a stalk 20 resembling a leg, a distortion-escape part 24 going toward the top of the stalk 20 and multi-filament cable 26. A case consists of two divided parts 50 forming the outer part of the stalk 20 and the shoe 44 of the converter part is made of formed rubber. The main axis 23 of the converter part 22 is sloped at an angle (obtuse angle) of 112 deg. against the main axis 21 of the stalk. The angle of the stalk allows a doctor to grip and manipulate the probe without being disturbed off his or her visual field of the operational positions. Further, as the side end of the converter and stalk are to be connected with the axis of the probe being shifted, the tip of the side of the converter can be inserted into a hypodermic region that is not incised in order to examine the tissues and anterior blood vessels surrounding an incision.
