Abstract:

To provide a reflux system and method for refining a carbon nano structure.

This reflux system comprises a solvent flask, a siphon pipe, an extractor connected to the solvent flask by a steam pipe and an energy imparter arranged around the bottom of the extraction pipe. The system is used in a single step method of putting a soot sample (including the carbon nano structure and amorphous carbon) into a filter, then arranging this filter in the extraction pipe. Next, the solvent is introduced into the extraction pipe. Further, ultrasonic vibrations are imparted to the soot sample by using the energy imparter. Next, one kind among the solvent, the amorphous carbon dissolved in the solvent and the carbon nano structure is taken out of the extraction pipe. When oxidizing gas is blown therein, the amorphous carbon is oxidized and an acid is introduced. Metal particles are then taken out of the soot sample.
