Abstract:

To thaw a frozen food without deterioration caused by cavitation.

A controlling part 22 controls an intermittent oscillation operation of an oscillator 23. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator 23 is set to the frequency at which the cavitation is hardly caused, i.e. at least ≥100 kHz, and the frequency at which the attenuation in a frozen food is suppressed to a comparatively small value, i.e. ≤600 kHz, and preferably 300-500 kHz. The oscillation signal outputted from the oscillator 23 is amplified at an output driver 24, and outputted to a thawing tool 2 as a driving signal. The amplification factor of the output driver 24 is regulated so that the energy of the ultrasound radiated from a thawing plate 201 by the driving signal may be about 0.1-5 W/cm2, preferably 1-3 W/cm2. The thawing tool 2 generates the ultrasound having the frequency of the driving signal and radiates the ultrasound to the frozen food of a thawing object to thaw the frozen food by the vibration energy of the ultrasound.
