PURPOSE: To facilitate manufacture and set a driving force linearly, by arranging two driving legs separated from each other in the driving directions and with different resonance frequency, on a mover.

CONSTITUTION: The mover 10 of an ultrasonic wave linear motor has left and right driving legs 11, 12, and a connecting section 13 for connecting an intermediate section in the direction of the levels of the driving legs 11, 12, and is almost H-shaped. In the driving legs 11, 12, running legs 11a, 12a are composed of one side salient-section from the connecting section 13, and the lower end surface comes in contact with the running surface 20. Of the other side salient section, transmission legs 11b, 12b are composed, and between them, a piezoelectric (electrostriction) oscillator 15 is placed via a spacer 14. Besides, the resonance frequency of the driving legs 11, 12 of the mover 10 is made different from each other, and to the oscillator 15, the driving voltage of specified frequency is applied. Then, both the driving legs 11, 12 are oscillated, and a linear driving force can be obtained.
