PURPOSE: To transmit and receive ultrasonic wave signals of multi-frequency, by making the construction of a transceiver small with the constitution of the ultrasonic wave transceiver arranging ring shaped oscillating element on a circle.
CONSTITUTION: The ring shaped oscillating element T1∼T3 arranged concentrically are excited based on transmitters 4∼7 via switching devices 1∼3 and an ultrasonic wave signal is transmitted. The transmitter 4 excites the oscillating element T1∼T3 in common by using a frequency signal f1 in common for the oscillating element T1∼T3. After a reflected wave from an object is received at the oscillating element T1∼T3, the wave is synthesized 8 for the phase. The synthesized output is amplified 9 and transmitted. The output of the transmitter 5 is introduced to he oscillating element T1 via the switching device 1. The exciting frequency o the transmitter 5 is set to a radial resonance frequency of the oscillating element T1. Similarly, the transmitters 6, 7 excite the oscillating element T2, T3 in the radial resonance frequencies f2, f3 of the oscillating element T2, T3 via the switching devices 2, 3. The oscillating element T1∼T3 are excited with the respective radial resonance frequencies f2∼f4, then the signals are given to received signal switching devices 10∼12.
