To provide an ultrasonic welding apparatus that can reliably weld objects with a sufficient strength even if welding between the weld objects is repeated and that can also attain a low cost.
An ultrasonic welding apparatus 1 is provided with a chip 14 and an anvil 15 for positioning a metallic plate 2 and a coated wire 3 as objects to be welded. A positioning part 17 and a clamping part 16 is fitted to the anvil 15. The positioning part 17 prevents the metallic plate 2 from shifting along the direction orthogonally crossing the line on which the chip 14 and the anvil 15 face oppositely. The clamping part 16 is equipped with a pair of clamping members 19, 20 for clamping and fixing the coated wire 3 while bringing an end face 3a of the coated wire 3 into contact with the surface of the metallic plate 2, which is positioned by the positioning part 17. The ultrasonic welding apparatus 1 presses the metallic plate 2 positioned by the positioning part 17 and the coated wire 3 fixed by the clamping part 16 in the direction to bring them closer to each other, and then imparts a ultrasonic vibration to them.
