To provide an ultraviolet light-curable coating composition which can preferably be used for surface coating of metals and plastics for storing beverages, foods, etc., and beverage cans, etc., made of plastic-coated metals.

The ultraviolet light-curable coating composition comprises (A) a photocationically polymerizable substance, (B) a compound having one hydroxy group and not having a reactive functional group other than the above hydroxy group and (C) a cationic photopolymerization initiator, and the coating composition is characterized in that the weight ratio of the component A to the component B is (99:1) to (80:20).
