Title:
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT ILLUMINATED BOWLING GAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3508311
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary bowling game by covering almost all the selected portion of the upper surface of an elongated structure having a plane upper surface supporting the ball with a film, by connecting an ultraviolet light sensitive dye or pigment in a lane and illuminating almost all the selected portion by fluoresce generated ultraviolet light.
SOLUTION: A bowling lane 22 supported by a floor 20 has a plane surface 24 on which a bowling ball 26 is running. Each lane 22 or lane pair is provided with ultraviolet light sources 50, 52. An ultraviolet light sensitive dye or pigment is incorporated in the surface or the portion sufficiently near the surface of one or more bowling elements in an enclosure 10. The elements fluoresce visibly when illuminated by the ultraviolet light of the light sources 50, 52. The board 54 of the lane 22 has a surface 56 covered with a protecting coating having a colorless transparent film 58 of 3-7 mm in thickness. The film 58 is connected to a surface 56 of the board 54.
