To provide an ultraviolet reactive adhesive which is cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays to come to a cured product having a low water absorption after curing, has excellent adhesion performance, and comes to a sealing medium having flexibility following to the pliability of a resin substrate when used as the sealing medium for a liquid crystal display composed of a resin substrate, and a liquid crystal panel rich in flexibility using this ultraviolet reactive adhesive.
The ultraviolet reactive adhesive comprises a radically polymerizable acrylic compound containing a monofunctional acrylic monomer and/or an acrylic oligomer, a polyfunctional cationically polymerizable resin, a noncrystalline polyester resin, an ultraviolet radical polymerization initiator, and an ultraviolet cationic polymerization initiator and is cured by ultraviolet rays of 500-5,000 mJ/cm2, and the cured product has an elastic modulus at 25°C of 1×107 to 2×109 Pa, a glass transition temperature of 10-60°C, and a water absorption of 0.5-2.5%. This adhesive is used as a sealing medium for a liquid crystal panel.
