To sterilize ball-shape foods, for example, eggs already sterilized by washing immediately before cooking with a simple apparatus.
A group of shafts 5 of a small diameter are arranged to a drawer 2 attached to an outer shell 1 so that they may start rotating at an equal speed in a same direction, when the drawer 2 is closed. An ultraviolet sterilization lamp 3 is set to the outer shell 1 so as to irradiate ball foods E rolling on the group of shafts with the ultraviolet rays. The foods can be readily sterilized only by placing the foods in the drawer 2 and closing the drawer 2. Since the diameter of the shafts is smaller than those of the ball foods, the ball foods are slowly rotated on the shafts and irradiated with ultraviolet rays, thereby sterilized all over their surfaces.
