To provide an inkjet printer capable of preventing reduction of print quality due to flowing or mixing of an ink in an image layer.
An inkjet printer 1 comprises an image receptor 20, an image forming part 10 adapted to form an image layer without using a toner on an image layer region of the image receptor 20 by injecting an ink, the image forming layer containing a substance which is cured when exposed to at least an ultraviolet light of a first wavelength, an ultraviolet supplying apparatus 50 for irradiating the image layer region with at least the ultraviolet light of the first wavelength and for at least partly curing an ultraviolet curable substance injected into the region, and a recording medium handling apparatus 42 adapted to provide a contact part for forming a nip between a recording medium 30 and the image layer formed on the image receptor by using a sufficient pressure to transfer the image layer to the recording medium, wherein either the receptor or a housing for the ultraviolet supply apparatus is provided between the ultraviolet supply apparatus and the image layer.
