To provide an uncertainty reduction technique with which a water permeability coefficient of a rock sample and a specific storage coefficient in a pressure pulse collapse test can be known accurately.
In an uncertainty reduction technique in a pressure pulse collapse test, according to a pressure pulse collapse testing method, an axial pressure and a sealing pressure are applied to a rock sample, an upstream pond and a downstream pond are connected to the rock sample and in such a state, a pressure pulse from the outside is applied. From a graph of a target function indicating a water permeability coefficient and a specific storage coefficient obtained by using the pressure pulse collapse test method on a lateral axis and a longitudinal axis, a coordinate value indicating a minimum value of the contour line is read out. Based on the coordinate value, the water permeability coefficient and the specific storage coefficient of the rock sample are determined. The graph of the target function obtained by repeating the pressure pulse collapse test while changing a boundary condition is superimposed and displayed, thereby reducing uncertainty in the water permeability coefficient and the specific storage coefficient of the rock sample.
