To provide an under roller (wire rod unwinding mechanism) for preventing a plurality of wire roads in parallel with each other from rubbing together and tangling each other.

The under roller is provided with a table part 10, a support roller 20 for roatatably supporting a drum 100 on the table part, the drum 100 carrying a plurality of wire rods wound in parallel thereon, a plurality of separating rollers 30 each disposed between the wire rods so that the wire rods unwound from the drum 100 are held in parallel with each other. It is preferable to allow the separating rollers 30 to move from a position each displaced between wire rods to a position out of the wire rods vice versa.
