Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a lot of added values by particularly forming a solid body frame integrally holding gear cases such as a differential gear case and a transmission case and thereby utilizing the solid body frame in relation to a undercarriage structure in a lightweight sports car.
SOLUTION: This sports car is provided with a undercarriage structure formed into a basket-like shape including a ladder-like frame composed by connecting base frames longitudinally extending by being laterally spaced through transversely mounted frames disposed by being longitudinally spaced, and is composed by disposing the gear case selected from the differential gear case and the transmission case at the center of a rear axle positioned in the vicinity of the tail end of the undercarriage structure. The sports car is so structured that a box-shaped frame surrounding and holding the gear case is installed, a truss frame for connecting the box-shaped frame to the undercarriage structure is installed, the solid body frame integrated into the undercarriage structure by all of the box-shaped frame and the truss frame is composed, and the suspension arm of the rear axle is extended from both side parts of the box-shaped frame.
