To provide a holder for an underground water level gauge capable of accurately measuring a ground water level with few errors of recognition and measurement of the ground water level by a water level gauge which is held inside and easily inserted to the holder.
The ground water level gauge includes: a holder main body 21; an insertion part 22 integrally formed with a tip side of the holder main body 21; and a holder main body support part 23 connected to the base end side of the holder main body 21. The holder main body 21 has a cylindrical shape of an approximately square column having an approximately square-shaped cross section, and includes slit parts 24 and 24 at two adjacent side faces. The slit parts 24 and 24 are formed on the tip side of the holder main body 21 in a longitudinal direction of the holder main body 21. The slit parts 24 and 24 are provided because the ground water flows into the holder main body 21, and the ground water flowing into the holder main body 21 is sensed by a sensor part 11 of a ground water gauge 10 which is inserted into the holder main body 21.
