PURPOSE: To obtain a pair of underpants open in front capable of adjusting the length of an elastic belt attached on a wearing opening and closing and opening the part open in front with Velcro(R).
CONSTITUTION: The both ends 26, 27 of an elastic tape 25 fed through a wearing opening edge 23 are taken out from insertion-openings 28, 29 of the body of an underpants and formed into loops 30 each of which is linked to a piece of fasteners 31, 32. Over and base cloth pieces 17, 18 of the opening part in front are formed with cloth pieces 7 which are separated from the body and have thin reverse-trapezoid shape and then sewing the pieces 7 on the body. The over and base cloth pieces 17, 18 are closed to each other with Velcro(R) fasteners. The waist size can be adjusted by changing the sizes of the loops 30 of the elastic tape 25 from a larger loop to a smaller loop or vice versa and changing the fastening position of the Velcro(R) fasteners. Owing to the opening in front, putting on and off of the underpants can become easy. Also, the underpants can be efficiently sewn and reduce the waste of cloths.
