Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject antifouling composition that is useful for preventing aquatic lives to fishing nets or underwater structures, particularly coelenterates, for example, hydroids; Rhodophyta, for example, Ceramiaceae; or tubular polychaete, for example, Hydroides elegans Haswell by using a specific acyclic organopolysiloxane bearing a specific oxyalkylene group. SOLUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) one or two or more kinds of acyclic organopolysiloxanes bearing oxyalkylene group represented by formula 1 [R is methyl; R<1> is a 3-5C alkylene; R<2> is an oxyalkylene of the formula:-(C2 H4 O)a (C3 H6 )b -(a is 5-12; b is 0-12); R<3> is H or a 1-4C alkyl; m is 5-50; n is 1-5] with a number-average molecular weight of 500-10,000, preferably in an amount of 100 pts.wt., preferably (B) tetraethyl thiuram disulfide of formula II in an amount of 10-5,000 pts.wt., and preferably (C) bias(dimethyldithiocarbamoyl) zinc ethylene-bis(dithioocarbamate) of formula III, in an amount of 10-5,000 pts.wt.
