Abstract:
To provide an underwater observation device and method capable of grasping an object even in turbid water of an open water area without using a complicated mechanism.
The present invention: attaches a transparent hollow case 5 so as to cover a front imaging window section 3a of a front camera section 2a which constitutes an underwater camera 2; brings an apical surface 6a of the hollow case 5 into contact with or close to an object G while keeping the inside of the hollow case 5 in a state of being filled with clear liquid W; and displays an image taken by the underwater camera 2 on a monitor 9.
