Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously carry out excavation and dredging work, particularly, even extremely deep in the ground and convey excavated matters to the surface of the ground, in an underwater work machine and remote control system thereof for use in the development of underground space.
SOLUTION: A ladder 4 of two-link mechanism and an arm 11 are mounted to an underwater work machine 51, which can travel over the bottom of the water in submerged state, so as to be horizontally revolved and vertically swung, and earth and sand or rock excavated by a bucket wheel 1 with teeth attached to the end of the ladder 4 is crushed and formed into muddy water by a crusher 3 adjacent to the wheel 1, which muddy water is conveyed by a pump 13 to an aboveground turbid water treating device through a transfer hose 18. Traveling control of the machine 51 and revolving and swinging control of the ladder 4 and arm 11 is performed remotely at an aboveground command place, where not only the location but also direction or inclination of the machine 51 is sensed.
