Abstract:
A flap gate 10 comprises a door 10 that has a rotary shaft 12 and that is raised by rotating around the rotary shaft 12, and an auxiliary drive unit 20 that applies a tension force to the door 10 in order to assist in the action to raise the door 10. The auxiliary drive unit 20 comprises: a counterweight 23 that generates a constant load; springs 24, 25 that generate an elastic load dependent on displacement, that are provided in a state of being displaced a prescribed amount from the natural length La, and that are configured so that the displacement from the natural length La is reduced as the door 10 is raised and the displacement is zero just before the door 10 is fully raised; and a wire rope 31 that is coupled to the door 10 and that is configured so as to apply the constant load of the counterweight 23 and the elastic load of the springs 24, 25 to the door 10 as a tension force and so that the vertical distance of the rotary shaft with the respect to the direction that the tension force acts is the longest during raising of the door 10.
