Title:
UNEVEN WALL PREVENTING METHOD FOR PRESSURE WELDED STEEL TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1177146
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uneven thickness preventing method for a pressure welded steel tube wherein a device is simply constituted, a maintenance load is small, moreover the only seam part is forcedly cooled and the generation of an uneven thickness in stretch reducing is prevented. SOLUTION: An external form of the pressure welded steel tube 10 is shaped into a nearly elliptic shape or a nearly polygonal shape with a shaping roll 12 before the seam part 15 is forcedly cooled (seam cooling), and seam cooling is executed with a restraining roll 13 having a profile suitable to this shape while restraining the movement in the circumferential direction. Rotating resistance against a twisting external force of a tube body within a seam cooling device 11 becomes remarkably large compared with conventional one in a nearly circular shape, whereby the seam part 15 is never twisted and always allowed to pass through a route touched by coolant.
