Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a controlled atmosphere packaging(CAP) film by filling an inert filler in a thermoplastic polymer, casting it into a sheet, and stretching to form an oriented film. CONSTITUTION: The CAP film is formed by the steps of melt blending a polymer, inert filler, processing aid and stabilizer in a mixer, extruding melt blend as a string-like material, cooling the material to maintain its moisture reference therein below 700 ppm, casting the film from the string-like extruded material, cooling the film to a temperature below a melting point of the film, and uniaxially orienting the film in a width of a T.M. Long stretcher or a forward draw unit.
