Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating engine capable of cost reduction while adopting an RCCI-based combustion system.SOLUTION: A reciprocating engine in which a piston reciprocates within a cylinder 110 by explosion pressure generated in a combustion chamber formed within the cylinder, comprises: a first fuel supply part 124 and a second fuel supply part 126 for supplying fuel into the combustion chamber; a modification part 144 for performing a modification treatment on the fuel supplied to the second fuel supply part for increasing reactivity; a fuel reservoir part for storing the fuel; a first supply line 140 for introducing the fuel from the fuel reservoir part to the first fuel supply part; and a second supply line 142 for supplying the fuel from the fuel reservoir part 138 or the first supply line to the second fuel supply part via the modification part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
