Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform motion universal jont of high durability without power loss and vibration during operation by constructing the main part of the uniform motion joint only of a pair of uniform type joints, a holder, and balls for ensuring balls constantly for rolling motion. CONSTITUTION:A pair of joint members 1 and 1' are respectively provided with three projections 2 and 2', which are provided with wall faces 4 and 4' in parallel with axes 3 and 3' of the members 1 and 1'. On these wall faces 4 and 4', circular arc-shaped grooves 5 and 5' are provided round points O' and O'' of a fixed distance S from a support O of a shaft. Besides, a holder 6 is radiately equipped with six arms 7, on which circumferential holes 8 are bored for fitting in balls 9 loosely. Members 1 and 1' are assembled from the both sides round the holder 6, and exposed parts of balls 9 from arms 7 are held between projections 2 and 2' and grooves 5 and 5'. A spherical guide 10 is loosely fitted in inner diameters 11 and 11' of the projections 2 and 2'. The above-said construction permits to transmit the rotation of a shaft 3 to a shaft 3' in uniform motion via balls 9.
