PURPOSE: To surely prevent discharge between electrode shaft parts by providing a stopper on the electrode shaft part, thereby enabling covering of a specified position a quartz tube.
CONSTITUTION: Stoppers 9,9 are provided on electrode shafts parts 4, 4 to regulate quarts tubes 8, 8 at positions length L apart from electrode coils 5, 5. In this case, the stopper pieces 9, 9 are welded onto the electrode shaft parts 4, 4 at the positions on the sides opposite to a space where the electrode coils 5, 5 face to each other in relation to the electrode shaft parts 4, 4, i.e., on the back sides of the electrode coils. Consequently, the quartz tubes 8, 8 covering the electrode shaft parts 4, 4 abut on the stoppers 9, 9 and thus the movement thereof is prevented, so that during the process of sealing, the quartz tubes 8, 8 do not move. The covering of a specified position of the electrode shaft part 4 with the quartz tube 8 thus becomes possible, so that discharge between the electrode shaft parts can be surely prevented.
