PURPOSE: To prevent a system error at system startup time when it is forgot to take out a floppy disk FD from an floppy disk drive FDD and to improve the handling easiness and operability by detecting the FD loading state in the FDD.

CONSTITUTION: When an FD detection control part 50 judges that the floppy disk(FD) is loaded in the floppy disk drive(FDD), an FDD taking-out part 60 is turned on and actuated to eject the FD from the FDD40. Thus the FD is ejected to the outside and then the FD detection control part 50 is not supplied with the driving electric power from a power source part any more and turned off, and then, the power supply from the power source part is cut off and the system turns off. When the FD control part 50 judges that the FD is not loaded in the FDD40, on the other hand, the FD detection part 50 is turned off, the power supply from the power source part is cut off, and the system turns off.
