PURPOSE: To improve efficiency in transportation and fabrication of a unit scaffold as well as for installation of connecting members and handrails to the unit scaffold by a method wherein an upper frame and a lower frame of the unit scaffold are connected with levers that are capable of rising and falling, and the frames are folded on occasion of transportation while being unfolded with the levers raised on occasion of fabrication.

CONSTITUTION: On occasion of transportation, levers 7 and 11 are made to fall and folded with horizontal pins 8 and 12 moved in guide grooves 9 and 13 toward the side B on one end in the circumferential direction D of a tank, and connecting members 15 and handrails 20 are removed. On occasion of installation, an upper frame 1 is hoisted with a crane 22 and the levers 7 and 11 are raised with the horizontal pins 8 and 12 moved toward the side A. When the upper frame 1 comes to an upper limit, separating from a lower frame 4, connecting members 15 are fixed to sides 1b of the upper frame 1 with horizontal pins 16, and the connecting members are raised to the positions on the upper limit. After that, the connecting members 15 and 17 are connected with turnbuckles 31 and handrails 20 are installed on the frames.
