PURPOSE: To facilitate the assembly of a deadbolt component into a door hole with different dimensions.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of cylinders 22 and 24 that is aligned in an axial direction, has a different diameter, and is extended to both sides is provided at an adapter 16. One of the cylinders 22 and 24 is complementarily adapted to one of a pair of holes 14 and 12, thus preventing radial lateral movement for the axis of the holes. The other cylinder out of the cylinders 22 and 24 is adapted into a groove 44 that is formed in a surface 42 of a protection collar 18 or a cylindrical opening 36 of the protection collar 18. Since the cylinders 22 and 24 are connected by links 26, 28, and 30 in one piece, the radial lateral movement of either of the cylinders 22 and 24 in either of the holes 14 and 12 is prevented, thus preventing the radial movement of the protection collar 18 for the axis of the holes.
