PURPOSE: To set pan or tilt speed suitable for a zoom position by storing the respective data of the zoom position and a PWM duty ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The zoom position of a zoom lens 1 is inputted to a universal head controller 2 as the voltage of a potentiometer 4, turned to a digital signal by an A/D converter 5, sent to a microcomputer 6 and compared with data stored in an EEPROM 7, and a zoom state is recognized. The duty ratio data of a PWM output signal corresponding to this zoom state are extracted from the EEPROM, and the PWM signal of pan or tilt is outputted at the duty ratio. This signal is integrated by integration circuits 8 and 9 and converted to an analog signal, and the motor speed of motors 12 and 13 for pan and title of a universal head 3 is controlled through motor driving circuits 10 and 11. Thus, since the pan and tilt speed can be automatically changed corresponding to the zoom position, it is not necessary for a user to set the pan speed in the case of automatic panning.
