To provide a universal joint meeting demands of a longer life and lower cost for improving the lubricant holding force of foam lubricant which holds lubricating components while keeping the oozing amount of the lubricant with the deformation of the foam lubricant to a required minimum and covering a lubricating function even when the lubricating components from the foam lubricant gets short.
In the universal joint, rotating torque is transmitted with the engagement of track grooves 3, 4 provided in an outward member 2 and an inward member 1 with a torque transmission member 5, the torque transmission member 5 is moved in the axial direction while rolling along the track grooves 3, 4, and auxiliary lubricating grease 10 and the foam lubricant containing the lubricating components in a resin to be foamed, hardened and changed into a porous form coexist inside. The auxiliary lubricating grease satisfies either (1) consistency being less than 285 or (2) the mixing rate of thickener being 10 wt.% or more and less than 40 wt.%.
