PURPOSE: To form a press die of a free shape by forming a punch mold of a prescribed pattern by projecting and fixing a lot of pin groups in a projecting shape, and making and fixing a die mold recessed in a recessed shape in accordance with the pattern of its projecting projection.
CONSTITUTION: A punch pin 3 and a die pin 4 can be moved and fixed independently in the direction vertical to mold surfaces 1', 2', respectively. In accordance with a graphic signal outputted from a graphic control device 10, a pin operating mechanism projects the pin 3 in a projecting shape in the direction as indicated with an arrow B, and forms the die pin 4 in a recessed shape in the direction as indicated with an arrow B'. A punch shape 3' and a die shape 4' are fixed to its position by a vice, etc., the punch shape 3' is fitted into the die shape 4', and a press work is executed. According to this mechanism, the punch shape 3' and the die shape 4' are obtained freely, and a manufacturing cost of a die can be reduced.
